Convent of the Thousand Buddhas


  The first Buddhist temple that we visited in China was located in the small village of Baidu in Guangdong province. Despite the fact that it was very small, we still were very impressed by all the known and unknown deities and saint of all kinds. Later on in our travels we have visited numerous sacred sites and temples which were operating or abandoned. Some of them unfortunately have absolutely lost their spirit and work for the benefit of tourism. Still we have encountered many that have still not lost it.

We go here so often that it seems when we finally will stop doing so we will never forget all the international-multi-lingual music on the streets, smell of cuisines from all over the world, beautiful people, colorful lights, funny money and of course crazy prices! The place we are talking about is of course Hong Kong (香港, literally – “fragrant harbor”).
